2020 Holiday Mini Session Prep Guide

We are so excited to have you and your family join us for our 2020 Holiday Minis! Now that you’ve booked, here are some FAQ’s and basic info to help make sure you are good to go!

Where is the session? The mini sessions are taking place at outside of our studio. Pull into the second driveway entrance and pull around and park closer to the first entrance. This helps maintain a one-way route so that there is plenty of room for the session after yours to park. There is a path on the left side of the house that goes to the session spot to the left of the red fence.

When should we arrive? Mini sessions are time sensitive since we book them back to back with other clients. If you are late, that cuts into the time of your session. If you are 10 minutes late for your 15 minute session, your session will only be five minutes. If anyone needs to get dressed or have their hair fixed, plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early.

What should we wear? Bring warm jackets and blankets so that your family can stay warm before and after your session. Dress for the weather. Cold kids do not make happy kids. Wear coordinating clothes for the session, but don’t be overly “matchy.” Avoid plaid patterns of different colors, too many busy patterns, and logos. We recommend that you start with mom’s outfit, then coordinate the rest of the family. Choose clothes that you feel comfortable and confident in!

Tips to help your session go smoothly

  • Make sure your family is fed and well-rested (consider young childrens’ nap times). Hungry, tired kids (and parents) are a bad combo for family photos!
  • Consider small bribes for children if your family is OK with that. We are fans of Smarties, gummies, or fruit snacks if you think it may help your child cooperate for the “look and smile” photos.
  • Relax! Have fun! Your children are perfectly fine the way they are. Sometimes, parents get stressed out because they think their kids are being too crazy. Most of the time, that’s actually not the case. If for some reason children truly are being out of control, we will work with you on the fly to reign them in a little!

What happens after our session? Once your session is over, Jaden will get to work editing your photos. Within 2 weeks of your session, your will receive a link via email to access your online gallery of images. Your mini session comes with 5 complimentary image downloads. You can choose your 5 favorite and download them. Once you download them, you are free to do with them as you please.

Can I pick more than 5 photos? Yes! If you would like more than 5 photos, you may purchase the rest of the gallery for only $125. If you choose this option, you will have full access to download all of the images in the gallery- not just five.

What if someone in my family is sick? Whether Covid-19 related or not, if anyone in the session has symptoms of being sick the week leading up to your session, you will need to reschedule to a later date. This includes fevers, tummy bugs, coughing, green runny noses, or other flu-like symptoms. Showing up to our home studio for your session while being obviously sick will result in forfeiture of the session. Thanks for understanding.
